Downtown LA has its Own Levitated Mass

Downtown LA has its own version of LACMA's Levitated Mass.

Made in the spirit of the original, this 'rock' has a sign out front declaring it so, and sits resting on a classic Radio Flyer wagon.

This piece pokes fun at the LACMA Mass, and on a practical level it does seem wild that LACMA would spend so much money moving a rock.  However, the rock does seem to be a popular event and everyone seems to enjoy posing with it.  Guess it is some sort of success as art when it gets people to interact on a new level and see things a different way.

The downtown 'rock' can be found in the LA Arts District in between 2nd and 3rd streets and East of Alameda.
